Malmö urban area

The Malmö Urban Area (Malmö tätort) is the third largest of the 1,400 localities or urban areas of Sweden. As such it has no political or administrative significance, but is a geographical and statistical entity. It is not the same as Metropolitan Malmö (Stormalmö), which is a much larger area.
It is a bimunicipal [1] locality in Skåne County. The population (as of 2005) is 258,020.
The municipal seats of Malmö Municipality (Malmö) and Burlöv Municipality (Arlöv) are located here.
