Malini Ramanarayanan (born 1977, New York) is the former lead singer of Teaneck-based hardcore band Coercion. Ramanarayanan was one of the few women in rock to have mastered the death grunt.
The band was known in the 1990s for its political lyrics and wild shows.
Ramanarayanan is a graduate of Cooper Union and the University of Chicago. Her brother is Ananth Ramanarayanan, a Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas economist.
