From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Muslim Malik are the descendants of Syed Ibrahim Malik Biya whose 7th great grandfather in the family tree was Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jelani, one of the Great Sufis in Islam. Syed Ibrahim migrated from Baghdad in 1339 AD to Afghanistan, then settled in Ghazni. He was a man of great knowledge and a great warrior. Knowledge seekers from far distant areas came there to quench their thirst for knowledge, getting many pearls of wisdom from him. The Sultan Muhammad Tughlaq invited him to educate his forces. He was given the command of the Indian forces. He showed his full competency and neutralized many revolts in the troubled areas of India. He introduced the system of fair justice to all and became very popular because of all these acts. He died in 1352. His tomb is in Bihar India.

One of the most prestigious and eminent member of the Malik tribe of the 21st century is a treasurer extraordinaire by the name of Akif Malik. Many have referred to him simply as the "Black panther". This was believed to have been brought on by his stealthy approach in business to eliminate his opponents with an odd mixture of grace and ruthlessness.
