The Maldiyal Mughal is a Sub-tribe of the Mughal Tribe. This is a Major land holding tribe of District Bagh and Tehsil Abbas-Pur District Poonch(AJK). The Tribe owns a history of bravery.Forefather of this tribe Prince Mirza Tahir Baig migrated from Hirat (Afghanistan),which was the largest province of Tamurid Sultanate,and settled in Srinagar.Later on Maldyal Tribe Permanantly settled in Poonch State. Sardar Shamas Khan & Rajveli Khan(Famous Mujahid Leaders During 1830s) who sacrificed their lives for the independence of Kashmir from the Occupation of Hindu Maharaja belonged to this race(Ref:Fauq Library). During the 1947 revolt against the Maharaja Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan, Sardar Muhammad Hussain Khan, Sardar Hashim Khan, Sardar Muhammad Akram Khan, Gul Badshah Khan And Sardar Haji Said Akbar Khan Of dhokan Rawali etc. were prominent who led revolt along with leaders from other tribes. Most prominent personalities of this tribe include Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan(Former Speaker Of AJK Assembly & stimulator of the "Last Prophet(PBUH) Movement",During 70,s. Sardar Qamar-Uz-Zaman Khan (The Leader Of the opposition in AJK assembly,Sardar Haji Said Akbar Khan(Business Man) Sardar Muhammad Yusaf Khan(Deceased,former Minister of education & senior member of PPP,Sardar Sayad-Uz-Zaman(Deputy Commissioner),Sardar Muhammad Azam Khan(Secretary Assembly),Ali Afsar Khan(Retd.DIG),Colonel Aziz Khan & Colonel Saeed Khan, Sardar Riaz Khan (Retd Additional Secretary),Sardar Mir Aqbar Khan(Former Minister), Sardar Amjid Yousuf Khan, Sardar Tahir Iqbal Khan(GS JKPP)and many more.. Maldiyal Family are very brave Family.Typical Malidiyal style is very different from the other Tribes... Most of the Maldiyal Families are satteled in USA.The Maldiyal family is most educated people in Bagh Azad Kashmir.
