Malcolm McKenzie

Malcolm McKenzie was a politician from Alberta Canada.
Malcolm was elected to his first term in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta in the 1905 Alberta general election. He served as a backbencher for the Alberta Liberal Party.
Malcolm was re-elected in the 1909 Alberta general election. After Arthur Lewis Sifton became premier of Alberta, Malcolm McKenzie was briefly appointed to the Provincial Treasurer ministerial portfolio. He was almost defeated in a ministerial by-election on May 27, 1912 winning by just 14 votes. He would not run again and retire from the legislature in 1913.
Malcolm was responsible for naming the town of Granum, Alberta while he was a Member of the Legislature. Granum is in some of the best Wheat growing area in the province, he chose the latin word for Grain, "Granum".
