Malcolm, Maryland

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Malcolm, Maryland is a small community, essentially centered around a five-way intersection in Charles County, Maryland, about 7 miles (11km) east of Waldorf. Horsehead Road is one of those roads, and, it was the route traveled by John Wilkes Booth to Dr. Mudd's house after Booth's assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

Now that the bar is closed by act of law, little happens in Malcolm except for the entirely legitimate activities of its most famous residents, Quick and Dottie Carlson, who maintain a private museum of antiquities on their estate. The Carlsons also maintain a steam boat and a private steam train. They have appeared on the PBS television series, "This Old Boat."

Malcolm is located at 38°37′0″N, 76°47′13″W (38.616667, -76.786944)[1].
