The Malaysian Tarantula Society is a society based in Malaysia and was established in 2005. The society is funded by donations, contribution and sponsorship from enthusiasts around the country.
The society is aimed at educating the public about the fascination of the tarantulas and other arachnids and dismiss all sinister properties associated with them. The television and media often misleads viewers that these primitive creatures are deadly, and posts as a deadly threat to us humans when in actual facts, it is us, humans, that are threatening their existence.
This society was founded by Mr. Randy Chuah back in 2003 but was officially established in 2005 with the help of fellow enthusiasts, also co-founder, Elson Tan, Jonas Liang, Dennis Teh and advisor Mark Pennell from the British Tarantula Society (http://www.thebts.co.uk)
