Malawach

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Malawach, (Hebrew: מלאווח), or malawah, (Hebrew: מלאווה), is a doughy fried bread that is a staple of the Jews of Yemen. Malawach resembles a crepe, and it is made up of hundreds of thin pancake layers. It is usually fried. Through immigration of Yemeni Jews to Israel, it's become a favorite comfort food in Israel for Israelis of all backgrounds and national origins.
