Malankara Catholic College, Mariagiri, Tamil Nadu, India is owned and managed by the Eparchy of Marthandam of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, with the approval of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu, and is affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Thirunelveli. It is one of the development activities initiated by its first Bishop Most. Rev.Lawrence Mar Ephraem. The foundation stone was blessed by His Eminence Achile Cardinal Silvestrini (Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches), and laid by Very Rev. Msgr. Maria Arputham, (Administrator, Diocese of Marthandam). Right now, the college has taken shape due to the indefatigable and daring efforts of the people of Marthandam Diocese. Especially Rev. Fr. Prem Kumar M.S.W., Secretary & Correspondent of our college and his team. It is a brand new college started during the academic year 1998 -1999 offering three undergraduation programme in the discipline Biochemistry, Computer Science and Physics that equip youth for prospective career options. The college is dedicated to our Lady of Annunciation was blessed on 25th July 1998 by Most Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom, the present Bishop of Marthandam Eparchy who is evincing great interest in making the college a leading higher educational institution to offer viable programme of study to the youth inhabiting the inter border areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The college was inaugurated by Moran Cyril Mar Baselios Catholicos, Major Archbishop, Thiruvananthapuram. The college is growing in all dimensions due to the special care and concern shown by our beloved Bishop, His Excellency Most. Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom. The college was accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation council (NAAC) with B+ grade during the acadamic year 2004 - 2005. In the same period the college went into the process of thorough quality check and secured ISO 9001 - 2000 certification. The motto of the College is " Learn to Serve "^[1]
