Malësori (born 17 July 1977 in Podgorica) is a famous Albanian singer from Triesh, in Malesija, Montenegro, where he lived and grew up; he finished primary and high school in Podgorica. His full name is Malësori Prënkoçaj. His passion for Albanian music started when he was a child.
Malësori was a member of famous folklore group from Triesh, called "Besa",where he was known as a singer and instrumentalists of folklore instruments like çiftelia and sharkia. "Besa" was one of the best folklore group in all region of Malesija and had a great singers and instrumentalists. This group was led by his uncle Dodë Gjonaj, who is one of the best instrumentalist of çiftelia in all Albanian world.
Malësori is famous for many revolutions he did in his career and his life. From a child who grow up in a non-Albanian place, he went to Priština and registered at the Albanian University, where he is a student now and he became a great Albanian singer. He became very famous when he did a song "Kthehuni" which was a great hit in the Albanian nation. This song was the biggest hit of the year 2003 in Kosovo, Serbia[1], and with it he created his own style of music, which is known as modern folk. He dedicated this song to all Albanians who don't live in their own country, especially to Albanians from Montenegro (from Tuzi, Krajina, Ulcinj, Plav and Gusinje), who were obligated to leave their homes. The song "Kthehuni" gave Malësori big fame.
He gave a great contribution singing in a many big concerts,dedicated to Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA),and many Albanian heroes like Adem Jashari, Zahir Pajaziti and many famous KLA fighters. He also sang for poor families, homeless Albanian children, etc.
He has a great friendship with many Albanian singers and artists like Nikollë Nikprelaj,Gili, Leonora Jakupi, Shkurte Fejza, etc. Malësori sang everywhere where Albanians live, like in Malësia, Kosovo, Albania, Republic of Macedonia, U.S. and all over the Europe. He now lives in Priština, Kosovo.
