[edit] FOPOG

Hi!

I think your FOPOG title is not complete. I would think that, since we are talkng about historical background, you should call it:

F.O.P.O.FO.BY.P.O.FO.RO.P.O.FO.H.E.

That would be more complete, since it means:

Former Ottoman Province of Former Byzantine Province of Former Roman Province of Former Hellenic Empire.

Despite the fact that our opinions are extremely opposite, I think we may amuse each other with jokes from time to time. Humor may sometime bring us closer. Don't you agree?

[edit] Republic of Macedonia in the Article Improvement Drive

Ova mene mi go ispratija skoro,pa ako imash vreme vidi i glasaj.POZDRAV>>>.

Hey Vlatkoto, I recently nominated the Republic of Macedonia article as a candidate for the Article Improvement Drive. The drive is a great way to get articles up to Featured Article Status. I hope you will take the time to visit the AID and vote for Republic of Macedonia! Below is the comment I wrote when I nominated the article. --Caponer 03:47, 5 March 2006 (UTC)

"The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia makes an excellent candidate for the Article Improvement Drive because it is very close to reaching featured article status in both content and layout. I feel as if we should always be focusing on articles that only require minor adjustments and additions in the AID instead of those that need complete and total reworking, and this is one that will only require a week to make the small adjustments required. Macedonia deserves a spotlight since it is poised to become a member state of the European Union and is a state that we will be hearing much more about in the news in the years to come. Its location adjacent to Albania and Kosovo will also make it a player in the upcoming debate over Kosovo's independence movement. I just feel it will be a fabulous choice and I hope you will think so, too. --Caponer 17:40, 2 March 2006 (UTC)"

[edit] Poll

Hi, take a look at the following poll and vote if you want. Bitola 13:11, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] LOL

And I thought the Greeks were crazy. Give the unbridled nationalism and falsified history a rest guys. Hell, just drop the nationalism altogether :)) It really isn't doing you any favours. - FrancisTyers 15:09, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Uhmm... Ohkay... Ancient Macedonians conquered Ancient Greeks. Sure... How come ALL the ancient Macedonians had Greek names? How come ALL ancient Macedonians self-identified themselves as Greeks? How come the word "Macedon" is of greek origin from the adjective "makednos" from the root mak- still found in greek originated english words like "macro-economics"? How come my name is Dionysios of the god Dionysos worshipped by Alexander the Great and the ancient Macedonians and your name has nothing to do with the ancient Macedonians and the rest? Just some questions... nothing to imply... Anyway, i think the FOPOG title you invented is funny. I don't like the FYROM thing either. My opinion on what the name solution could be is either Slavomacedonia, or Northern Macedonia, or Vardar Macedonia or something like that. But not Macedonia, because there is Greek and Bulgarian Macedonia too. Monopolizing a name isn't cool. (Dionysios 13:28, 30 January 2007 (UTC))

[edit] Hello

I'd just like to say that I totally support Macedonia in the right to officially have the name "Македонија", which has always been their name. The "Greek" part of Macedonia will one day be Macedonia again, I'm sure of it. The Greeks can cry and jump up and down all they want, history is on our side. All the best! --serbiana - talk 23:03, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

That's nationalistic bullcrap. "which has always been their name" since when? since 1940? you can use "macedonia" for your country, but only as part of your name because there is a Greek Macedonia too. There couldn't be a country called Bavaria in the south of Germany or a country called Galicia in the west of Spain. (Dionysios 13:18, 30 January 2007 (UTC))

It's actually called "Republic of Macedonia" so in fact confusion at any official level is neatly avoided. There are no other regions anywhere calling themselves "Republic of Macedonia".
In any case, countries change their names without consulting others all of the time. There are no rules on this and there is in fact nothing preventing switzerland (for sake of argument) from changing it's name to "republic of Burgundy".Zebulin 17:24, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Policy violation

Hi, your userpage violates WP:USER. Please read the guidelines and make the necessary changes. I point you specifically at: "What can I not have on my user page?".

I am giving you a chance to bring the page inline with policy before I delete it. Regards, - FrancisTyers 23:18, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

--FlavrSavr 10:45, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
