[edit] Maki's History

[edit] 1983-2000

Born B. S. Dingemans on January 1983, Maki grew up with her mother being rather concerned for her mental wellbeing. From the get-go, her mother had claimed her child had autism, but every doctor and psychologist she went to claimed she was just "over-protective" of her child.

Maki grew up with little friends in school, the most she had still countable on two hands, and was often teased and pestered by the bullies on her school. Being a somewhat tender boy and seeing no fun in playing soccer or such games, Maki reverted to hiding in the bushes and playing with marbles with the few friends she had. In retrospect, Maki claims it was because she wanted to play with the girls in her school but wasn't allowed to because she was a boy.

Throughout Maki's life, she found normal school-going life to be rather frustrating and stressfull, and she dropped out of her high school to go to a special "daycare" where she studied and tried to work on her "psychological issues".

Following a mental breakdown and explosion directed at a fellow student, she got kicked from the daycare and joined a group of the RMPI in Barendrecht. She joined the group on January 6 1998 and joined the school on January 8 1998, yet was kicked from the group due to "authority problems" somewhere in October/November of that same year. Her memory on this date is fuzzy, as the expulsion from that group hit her like nothing before that day had.

Dazed, angry and confused, she simply said her goodbyes to her friends on the group and proceeded to clean out her room, until it got cleaned out by the same person who expelled her, which caused her to lose 45% of her possessions and hold a grudge against that person which still exists today.

[edit] 2001-2005

After studying along on the same school until 2001, she graduated from high school in the same year and went to college to study ICT Management. September 11 came, however, disrupting the, already volatile, situation on her school and forcing muslims and non-muslims to grow more hostile towards each other. Maki, who had rather controversial ideas about the whole September 11 incident, found herself standing in the middle of a figurative battlefield and dropped out of college due to the stressful athmosphere.

The next year, she tried to get another diploma, but found herself dropping out within 3 months into the study. From that moment on, Maki was to be found at home playing with her computer systems and toying with her mother's PC. She also went to the RIAGG (Now known as GGZ Group.) to find out what was causing her to drop out of school that easily, cause it wasn't something she could help.

After having the nerve to ask her mother if she really wanted to go through with it, even though Maki was an adult by her country's standards, they finally gave her a complete psychological checkup and decided she had PDD-NOS, which falls under the umbrella term PDD, or Pervasive Developmental Disorder, which also covers Autism. Didn't they tell Maki's mom that she was just "overprotective" before?

With that new information, Maki finally thought she was in the clear and agreed to be seen more frequently by a psychologist. Having bought her own computer in 2003, however, she also proceeded to live a near 24/7 online life. This behaviour is still going strong today. In the same year (2003), she met some of the most wonderful people in her life and found out about one of them being transsexual.

Having never heard of the term, she proceeded to look into the subject and soon found eerie similarities with her own thoughts and feelings. Deciding to go after it, she contacted Humanitas in Rotterdam, but they told her they couldn't help her because of her PDD problems and that she should get a green light from the VUmc in Amsterdam before they would help her.

Contacting the VUmc in 2004, in the hopes that they could help her with this issue, Maki frequently travelled between Rotterdam and Amsterdam and worked on her psychological problems at the same time, having found a new Psychologist at the SARR (Center for Autism Rotterdam Rijnmond, a part of the GGZ Group. Formerly known as RIAGG.).

Unfortunately, though, the VUmc decided not to help Maki and Maki has started the year 2006 with a depressive fit, but soon decided to throw herself at the VUmc and ask them for a second opinion. Maki knows who she is. Maki's friends and family know who she is. Maki won't let a doctor claim she doesn't know herself unpunished. D:<

[edit] Maki & Games

Maki has been busy playing and analyzing computer games since she aquired a Commodore 64 somewhere in 1990~1991. A Commodore Amiga soon followed in 1995~1996. The lists below should merely be seen as games she has played and found interesting enough to remember, not as a list of what games she found better than others.

[edit] Offline & Online Playable Games

Maki's favorites. Sorted alphabetically.

[edit] "Pure" Online Games

Where possible with the years wherein Maki played those games. An x means she's still playing it. Sorted by date when Maki first stumbled upon them. (Unless her memory is cheating her.)

[edit] Where to find Maki?

This is a (sporadically) updated list of websites where one might find, and converse with, Maki.

  • ASZentai, a Yahoo! group about zentai and autism and related topics, made by Maki.
  • Furcadia, a 2D MMO which allows people to create a character and roleplay with others or simply meet up in a furry-friendly environment. Furcadia continues to expand with new features being released every so often and players can buy certain content such as additional races or wings or the like through Furcadia's online store.
  • Gaia Online, formerly known as Go-Gaia, it used to be the #1 place on the internet for Maki. However, due to several circumstances in 2005, Maki decided to depart from Gaia, seemingly for good. Having given away 99% of her items to friends she will not name to keep them from getting harassed, she returned to a practically bare account in 2007. Maki can be found sporadically visiting the site again.
  • Makitk.eu, Maki's personal website.
