[edit] Profile

I am Matthew Adam Bates and live in London (Camberwell), and I work as a virologist at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I am currently coming to the end of my PhD studies which concern HCMV (Human Cytomegalovirus/HHV-5) and HHV-6 (Human Herpesvirus Six) infections in Zambian infants. I was born on the 20th Jan 1978 (in Royal Leamington Spa)

and am catagorized as an Aquarius by most magazines. I do not however have any patience for spiritual or mythical beliefs. I consider myself to be a cynical agnostic. The love of my life is a Miss Juliet Kavungu who hails from Zambia. Julie's uncle used to go to work in a suit and tie... and only after several months did his wife realise he was actually working as a security guard. It is to him that I owe my Zambian name: Makeche.
