I speak to fans and all insufferable know-it-alls.
[edit] Trivia Nonsense
I gotta say, as much as it's probably not good for the article, I love the overenthusiasm and tone in the beginning of the trivia section. 24.21.71.123 07:39, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Article Protection?
Is there any way we can request to protect this article from being reverted to the other biased copyrighted version? I'm sick of this revert war between Wikipedia users and external users. Ethereal 03:58, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)
- Hm, yeah. I'll temporarily protect it now, let's see if it will have any long-lasting effect. --Joy [shallot] 11:01, 22 Mar 2005 (UTC)

- Thanks a lot. Now if that unidentified vandalist seeks to revert, he would have to explain his actions here first. I'm also hoping that anyone who wants to update content would post the proposed changes here first. Ethereal 11:07, Mar 22, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] NO COPY & PASTE ARTICLES ALLOWED!
I've glanced through the history section of this article and I've found out that all the revertions are made because of copying and pasting the official biography. Copying content from other sites without permission is not allowed in Wikipedia, and a biography only explains a small chunk of Maksim's life. Please contribute original edits and refrain yourselves from copy and paste. --Andylkl (talk) 18:00, Jun 24, 2005 (UTC)
- Agreed. It's a shame when the work of many Wikipedians is put totally aside by someone who replaces it by the work of another. -x42bn6 2 July 2005 02:03 (UTC)
[edit] Pronunciation
The pronunciation "mravitsa" isn't even close to how the last name is pronounced by Croatian speakers. Assuming the target audience is English-speaking, "mravitsa" would imply English-style "r" (incorrect, it's rolling), add an unnecessary "a" after the "r", and place the accent on the "i" -- all of which are incorrect.
This should either be expanded to correctly explain the pronunciation, or use IPA. The current pronunciation is misleading at best. 83.131.48.187 08:35, 21 April 2006 (UTC)
- I've just edited the pronounciation to what is stated in Maksim's most popular fansite. If it's incorrect, as I have gathered from what has been previously said, could a serb-croatian speaker please edit using the International Phonetic Alphabet?Rosa 19:10, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Why such insufficient information about his life?
I may be new around here, but it would be good to inform the readers honestly for those who want to find out who contributes or changes any part or whole of this article so that they don't have to struggle terribly to find it out for themselves! I've added the Trivia section and the Adaptations and Arrangements section on Maksim Mrvica's Wikipedia Article (on Living People) so as to make his biographical article about his life more wholesome and complete as possible. (And of course, I was once a great fan of Maksim before ever since he first came into my country Malaysia for his amazing piano concerts of his first Asian tour and have read about him through many local newspapers and other grapevines that prompted me to write this page more about him!)
I thought it would be a great thing to do that because not only this is a free big web-based online encyclopedia but also a place where editors are allowed to share, provide or open out their thoughts of adding an intellectual piece of what they've in their minds. Aren't Wikipedians or "officials" of this Wiki-Encyclopedia should know about this? Aren't they suppose to allowed or grant acceptance of other editors who knows that in order to make it a better or best online encyclopedia, one of the chief principles on editing it is that it should be as enriching as with added adequate, considerable plus satisfactory knowledge asap and to make it a properly edited piece and it's alright to edit anything they want with what they know it's incomplete?
Somehow it seems to me that not everyone gets to volunteer to do so, and sometimes this article may be let lingered or delayed freely for such a very long or permanent time before someone else goes after it and changes it. But before that happened (I mean before my editing takes place into this article), when I've finished reading on Maksim's article especially about his life, sad to say that the information given or written on it about him is fairly fundamental and a little bit plain with a few subheadlines. I believe if this is the way the article should be going on, how will we expect the universal readers from all over the entire world will find interest or credibility on him or fully understand enough of him?
We all know that as time goes by, almost everything changes and new events coming up unlikely in the midst of our circumstances as well as history takes up its own place, we must be ready to get everything fully updated or done so that it can be adapted to its current position of time and space (since this is the internet cyberspace). Are we allowing this article one day end up in the far future to be put in an antic shop or any museum where the internet history section is rightfully located for that article display and branded this as an archaic piece of "battered" old article webpage? Unfortunately, there are still numerous other Wikipedia articles "floating around to nowhere until they are landed into the hands of unwanted trespassers and intruders" that nearly share or already shared this same fate as I've aforementioned! "Sigh!"

- (Note: For those who had read Maksim's Trivia page and had found out any mistake, error or false imformation edited in that section, you editors and fans of him who have any precise knowledge about him can help correcting it by clicking the "edit" found at the top right of that section or "edit this page" tab found on top of that whole article. However, be very careful!!! Because it must reflect the rules and regulations of its verifiability and accuracy of its text plus the acceptance of global-scale consensus from the readers! Please go to Wikipedia: Verifiability, read it and try to understand what it says!) -onWheeZierPLot Monday, 3rd July, 2006ad.
[edit] Useless/Fallacious Trivia?
Not to say that most trivia by definition isn't useless, but a lot of what is in this page's trivia section is completely worthless and irrelevant information. The fact that his (and his wife's?) favorite color is black seems unencyclopedic to me. The grammar in this section seems thoroughly atrocious as well. I've edited the section on a couple of occasions, but it has been reverted each time.
What exactly does being a "fastest-lightning-finger-playing-pianist" entail? I can sit down at a piano and play 20+ notes per second. I didn't know I was the fastest playing pianist in the world! This section either needs to be clarified or removed.
- Yes, 14 notes per second is pretty paltry. Indeed, 100 notes per second is easily doable (playing chords), and there are plenty of passages which, if appropriately written, can be played at upwards of 20 consecutive notes per second. Even Ligeti's awkward Continuum for harpsichord, which uses repeated notes and such, can be executed faster than that. I vote that, in the absence of clarification, this part be axed. I would not, however, remove information such as his favourite colour--it's pretty useless, to be sure, but it's interesting, and Wikipedia is not bounded by the same practical space limitations as a paper encyclopedia, so there's no point being excessively persnickety over things like that. Yes, I know. I am such a pompous know-it-all. It's in my nature. :) Don't mind me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.168.21.74 (talk • contribs)
[edit] Colombia?
at some point of that bio it says "automobile giants Chevrolet and BMW, for whom he performed at their respective Colombian and Malaysian car launches."...is that true? where was this info taken from? are you sure he was in Colombia? cause as far as I know he's largely unknown here...Rosa 18:52, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
