Y Done - note that if and when any other article on a subject with the name "Maker" is created, this could always be moved back to Maker, Cornwall and a dab page created. At the moment, though, there's no reason for this page not to sit at Maker. Neıl ☎ 15:16, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Requested move
Maker, Cornwall → Maker — Removing unnecessary precision as this is the only possible encyclopedic target and the UK does not follow the US rules on the unnecessary inclusion of county/state names. —Joe Llywelyn Griffith Blakesley talk contrib 20:54, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

- Oppose. Maker is too common of a term. The primary usage is probably the general definition of a person or company that makes things. Then you have the class of products that include maker in the name such as a coffee maker. Then you have the movie The Maker and who knows what else. By moving this, we would be saying that this is the primary use, yet from the 211,000,000 returns from Google you would be hard pressed to prove that point. Better to leave this as is for now and expect a dab page at Maker in the future. Vegaswikian (talk) 23:45, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
- Support - "Maker" would most likely be a search for the city and Wikipedia is not a dictionary. Parable1991 (talk) 02:45, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- Based on? Vegaswikian (talk) 01:37, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- What do you mean "Based on"? Parable1991 (talk) 03:01, 3 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oppose, for the same reasons as Vegaswikian. NB "Maker" is not a city, it is a small village. Sam Staton (talk) 16:14, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
- Support There's no other article titled "Maker". So "Maker" would be unambiguous in this case. 71.106.173.211 (talk) 01:43, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
- Support - if someone searches for 'Maker', this town is probably what they're looking for. Coffee makers, etc. can be covered by a disambiguation page. Terraxos (talk) 03:06, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Weak support. Only a small village, but does not clash with any other "maker" article and redirects there anyway. The word on its own is kind of rare anyway. More likely to be "<something> maker", or "manufacturer". Fatsamsgrandslam (talk) 20:29, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
