[edit] History

Makoto Mizoguchi is a homeless vagabond who tries to perfect his fighting skills by trying to pick fights against random strangers, with out of dumb luck Mizoguchi ending up the victor. After winning at the last Great Grapple, Mizoguchi has been worn out these days, "tut, why do I have to go there?" Though he threw the invitation letter immediately, he soon changed his mind to let the "unknown" fighters know of his strength. Now he is joining new King of Fighters tournament for unknown reasons.

[edit] Additional Information

  • Mizoguchi is commonly referred to as a "Shoto-clone", as his gameplay is similar to that of the Ansatsuken practitioners of the Street Fighter video games. Like most of these characters, he does have subtle differences, such as being a barechested character, similar to Goro Daimon. Also, his background story of a wandering fighter is very similar to that of Ryu, even though Mizoguchi does not really seek to purify his spirit via fighting; his ending in the original Fighter's History shows him entering a university, unwilling to fight any longer [1].
  • In a Comical running Joke on the Sequel Fighters History Dynamite (A.K.A. Karnov's Revenge) He Returns home only to be forced into training once again by his Sensei from the first Ending[2].
  • He appeared first in Fighters History for the Arcade and Super NES. He later starred in his own game, Fighters History: Mizoguchi Kiki Ippatsu!!, which was released on Super NES, and Fuunseiki (Outlaws of the Lost Dynasty 2), which only appeared on the Sega Saturn. His appearance does not differ much in each incarnation.
  • In June 2007, it was revealed that Mizoguchi was the first Data East character to be incorporated in an SNK Playmore game, with KOF: Maximum Impact Regulation "A".
