Makiki stretches from downtown Honolulu to Manoa and Waikīkī, bounded to the north by Makiki Heights and Makiki Valley and to the south by Ala Moana.

Makiki is an urban residential district of Honolulu, Hawai‘i stretching from downtown Honolulu to Manoa and Waikīkī, bounded to the north by Makiki Heights and Makiki Valley and to the south by Ala Moana and Kaka‘ako. Residents of Makiki are largely Japanese American followed by smaller groups of Caucasians and Korean Americans. Punchbowl and Tantalus, extinct shield volcanoes, tower over the Makiki neighborhood.
