MaK G 1206 is a German diesel-hydraulic locomotive built in 168 copies by Maschinenbau Kiel (MaK) since 1997, and by Siemens after they bought MaK. It is a direct successor to MaK G 1205, but heavier and with a more powerful engine. It can be used for freight hauling and shunting. The Vossloh G 1700 has been developed from the G 1206.
