Majumdar

Majumdar (also Majumdar, Mojumdar, Majumder, Mojumder, Mazumdar, Mozumdar, Mazumder, Mozumder, Majoomdar, Mojoomdar, Majoomder, Mojoomder, Mazoomdar, Mozoomdar, Mazoomder, or Mozoomder) is a Bengali title, now commonly used as a family name. The title comes from the Arabic majmua = collection and the Persian dar = keeper. It refers to archivists, or record-keepers. The title is not tied to any caste or religion, and includes Hindus of all castes as well as Muslims.
