The following is a list of teams that play in one of the five major sports leagues in North America: Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the Canadian Football League, the National Hockey League, and the National Basketball Association. The geographical name is listed before the nickname to keep this list uniform. All lists are alphabetical, broken down by U.S. state or Canadian province and the number in parenthesis is the total number of teams in that specific state or province.
