After a stormy relationship with another woman (which ended very tragically with the woman committing suicide) Majken suffered a life crises which lead to her decision in later joining the Swedish section of the Salvation Army in the 1950s. She began to write, both socially debating articles in news papers but more important: also poetry. She debuted with Buskteater in 1952, which was celibrated by many critics. Johansson published altogether 8 volumes of poetry between years 1952-89. Her poems reflects not only on thoughts of life, love and God, but also on everyday reflections in a very simple and keen way, often with a lot of humor.
