Mailer Diablo is a largely retired editor on Wikipedia, who is currently residing in little island of Singapore.

If one considers the online encyclopedia now to be a cosmopolitan metropolis, then it can be said that he joined Wikipedia in a golden era with the status of a "emerging developing nation" where co-operation and community spirit is highly valued. Quickly learning the ropes of the little processes he was handed a mop and bucket after four months, a considerable feat in its time.

His first editing stint was in November 2004 writing about topics relating to Singapore, where coverage was scarce. Mooting the name of "SGpedia community" as the virtual gathering point for Singaporean editors, its noticeboard today boasts more than a hundred editors and bustling with activity to expand and improve upon Singapore-related articles.

In Mailer's heyday he was a prolific closer of Articles for Deletion [AfD] debates (and its precursor Votes for Deletion [VfD]), with cases as many as up to a hundred per day. In some cases the debates were contentious, but handing out fair verdicts in the spirit of community consensus and calming the crowd was a joy that motivated him to go on for some time; He was the one who eventually closed the lid on the Esperanza debate.

Mailer is no stranger to WikiPolitics. He survived through the Userbox Wars, a significant event that would alter forever the internal processes of Wikipedia and see its resulting emergence of politics rather than writing the encyclopedia. He believes that abusive admins corrupted with power were to be shown the door; along with others has continually put pressure on abusers to ensure that the mop and bucket remains a honourable service to the community and the encyclopedia. Once an active participant of the RfA and known for once putting forth the infamous 1FA criteria towards thinktanks, he was not particularly successful in reforming the process.

Now retired from the internal process since 1 January 2008 due to real-life commitments, Mailer now writes occasionally on obscure subjects for Did You Knows.
