Talk:Maitland, New South Wales
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Surely comments on something as subjective as road conditions do not belong in such a short entry. Especially when items like:
Major employers
City Events eg.
- Steamfest - Wine harvest - Ball in the Mall
Sporting clubs
Maitland Flood
are missing
[edit] Culture
Before creating an account, I added comments on Steamfest and Morpeth Jazz festival Tanith 13:59, 14 January 2006 (UTC).
I feel sure this article could be much bigger and better. Sussexman 15:47, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] ASC
I would question whether it is necessary to have such a large section devoted to All Saints College, especially when a lot of other information about the area is lacking, including any mention of Maitland's other high schools. I am an ex-student of the college, but this article is about Maitland (the town), not the virtues of ASC. Perhaps the ASC information could be split into a separate article. Any other suggestions?
[edit] Correction To Page
Under the festivals section someone has written 'Maitland also is home one of the fastest hot-dog eaters in the world, Nathan Hick. Nathan Hick has won 3 of the last 4 world tittles'(sic). I've actully done a bit of research into this and it can not possibly be true because the man who was considered the world champion of hot dog eating for the past five years running is Takeru Kobayashi of Japan. Visit his profile on the International Federation Of Competitive Eating website (http://www.ifoce.com/eaters.php?action=detail&sn=22) for more info on this champion athlete.
I'm going to delete those lines. I know that people criticise Wikipedia because it's so easily vandalised and everything but i think today we should thank the vandals for bringing to our attention the world of competitive eating and leading me to some quite amusing youtube videos -
