Not sure this should redirect to sendmail - I suspect it might be a general metaphor (perhaps only used in the USA?) used to describe the flow of snail mail from sender to recipient. After being posted, mail is collected, sorted, and grouped with other mail with similar addresses and transported all together - like tributaries flowing into a river... It seems to be used in this sense on the USPS web site for example. I don't know for sure, just guessing. RossA 23:59, 30 Apr 2004 (UTC)

I think it is safe to disassociate sendmail with Mailstream. sendmail is a software that runs on computers. dvlink 09 Oct 2006
