Maissana is a comune (municipality) in the Province of La Spezia in the Italian region Liguria, located about 50 km east of Genoa and about 35 km northwest of La Spezia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 687 and an area of 45.5 km².[1]
The municipality of Maissana contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Campore, Cembrano, Chiama, Colli, Disconesi, Ossegna, Salterana, Santa Maria, Tavarone, and Torza.
Maissana borders the following municipalities: Carro, Casarza Ligure, Castiglione Chiavarese, Ne, Varese Ligure.
