Maintenance-free operating period

Maintenance-free operating period (MFOP) is an alternative measure of performance to MTBF, or mean time between failures, which has some mathematical issues mostly caused by the misconception that MTBF represents the point in time when the probability of failure is equal to the probability of continued operation.
