Maine Superior Court
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Maine Superior Court is Maine’s trial court of general jurisdiction and is the only level of court where jury trials are available. The court is located in each of Maine’s sixteen counties (with two locations in Aroostook County). The Court consists of seventeen justices who all have statewide jurisdiction and travel to the different courthouses to hold court.[1] Justices are nominated by the Governor and confirmed by the Maine Senate and are appointed to seven-year terms.[2]
