[edit] Transition
On August 22, 2006, Lyman announced that he intends to sell the Workshops as well as Rockport College, which was founded in 1996, and much of the physical campus shared by both, in order to spend more time with his family and on personal projects. [1]
On March 3, 2007 an announcement was made that a newly-formed group called the Maine Media Workshops is acquiring the working assets of the Maine Photographic Workshops, the International Film and Television Workshops, and Rockport College. Under new ownership, The Workshops will seek non-profit status.[1]
