Maindargi is located at 17.47° N 76.3° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 473 metres (1551 feet).

It is one of a very good place for all to stay.There is Shivachaleshwar Temple in Maindargi. Shri Shivachaleshwar was a Saint and helped poor and needy. Maindargi is also famous for handlooms. When to come? During Shivachaleshwar Temple yatra "Palaki" (Kannada).

As of 2001 India census[2], Maindargi had a population of 11,754. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%.
