Mailshot
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mailshots (or Mail shots) are bulk mail advertising sent through the mail in the United Kingdom to potential customers to advertise goods or services. They can be "warm", meaning that they are more specialized. Or they can be "cold", similar to the weekly grocery store ads that arrive in your mail box once a week.
In the UK consumers have the option to opt out of mailshots using the Mail Preference Service or MPS. This is a free service offered by the marketing industry to reduce the amount junk mail sent and received.
