Maildubh

Maildubh[1] was an Irish monk of the seventh century. He in 642[2] settled and founded a school in the west of England. This was in the place that became Malmesbury. He is recorded also at Selwood Forest.[3]
Among his pupils were Aldhelm, the founder of Malmesbury Abbey, and Daniel of Winchester.
