[edit] Accessorial Rates

The UPS Store locations are required by UPS to offer shipping rates at or below UPS Retail Rates. This includes the base shipping itself, the residential surcharge (if applicable), and the fuel surcharge. Accessorial options may have a surcharge applied, the largest of which is generally Declared Value coverage. The UPS Store or Mail Boxes Etc. locations typically charge between $1.25 and $2.50 per $100.00 of coverage. At UPS customer centers, however, declared value coverage is typically $0.80 per $100 of insured coverage.

The UPS Store has been offering a new service since November 2007 termed the "Pack and Ship Promise." The service automatically provides 100% coverage of all packing and shipping costs in case of loss or damage, provided that the parcel was professionally packed by The UPS Store. In most locations, there is little or no additional cost to the consumer. Parcels not packed by UPS Store employees, and parcels shipped by locations not participating in this program do not qualify for coverage of packing costs under this program, regardless of the party at fault for their loss.

[edit] Canada

After India, Canada is the second country outside the United States to adopt The UPS Store name. In 2005, UPS stated that 95 percent of existing Mail Boxes Etc. franchisees chose to re-brand.

[edit] India

Jetair Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is the exclusive master licensee to develop The UPS Store business within India.[3] The 2005 agreement marked the introduction of The UPS Store brand outside North America as well as the first time a new market was developed exclusively as The UPS Store. The Hindu Business Line quoted Ken Torok of UPS as saying that UPS Store would be India’s first full-service network of retail outlets that combined packaging, shipping and other business products with Jetair airways ticketing services. UPS planned its Indian retail network primarily to serve small- and medium-size businesses, mobile workers, small-office, home-office workers and general consumers.
