General Mai Hữu Xuân was a general of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam and a participant in the 1963 South Vietnamese coup that deposed President Ngo Dinh Diem and ended in his assassination. Xuan was in charge of the convoy that took Diem back to army headquarters, during which Diem was shot.
