Talk:Mahte
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Why have "mahte" as the main article title and "mate" in the subsidiary articles? Can we not be consistent, with one as the principal spelling and the other noted as "also"? Just asking (I know nothing -- yet -- about Latvian mythology!) -- Picapica 23:38, 22 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Corect spelling in Latvian is Māte, when writing without macrons it is Mate (or sometimes Maate), Mahte is acctualy German not English spelling (German way of spelling was used for spelling Latvian until 20. century) - H is used to indicate long vowel (as is macron or double vowel).
BTW is nummber of deities correct ? I was told that there are about 270 not "sixsty-seventy" -- Xil - talk 09:51, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
