Mahmoud Mukhtar (nicknamed el-Tetsh) was an Egyptian football player. He was born in 1905 in Cairo, Egypt and played for el-Ahly club in 1922. He joined the first team in the same year and played his first game with el-Ahly aginist aviation English team in the Sultan Cup of Egypt. El-Ahly won 2:1, with el-Tetsh scoring the winning goal.
People nicknamed Mahmoud Mukhtar el-Tetsh because of his short stature and ability to jump, which delighted the people. He was known to a small Bahlawan in London, who performed in the royal palace Buckingham concerts.
El-Tetsh was part of the leadership team throughout Egypt for ten years until he decided to retire from the game, which he did at the height of his career in 1940. Egypt also participated with the Egyptian mission in the Olympics years 1924, 1928 and 1936.
El-Tetsh assumed the post of secretary general of the Egyptian Olympic Committee from 1956 until 1959.
The Ahly Club in el-Gezira has a stadium named after el-Tetsh to commemorate his big role in raising the level of the game in the Ahly Club.
