Mahindra Gujarat

Mahindra Gujarat Tractor, acquired by Mahindra & Mahindra from the Government of Gujarat in 1999, is the oldest running tractor unit in the country. The Mahindra Group has a 60% stake and the balance 40% is with the Government of Gujarat.
Originally founded in as Gujarat Tractors Ltd. in 1963 in cooperation with Motokov-Praha of Czechoslovakia, [1], the tractors were based on the Zetor tractor design. The company is based in the state of Gujarat in India.
Today, the tractors are sold under the Shaktimaan brand in the 30-45 hp range.[2]
