Maheta Molango (born 24 July 1982 in St Imier) is a professional Swiss footballer, currently without a club after being released by UB Conquense of the Spanish Segunda División B.
Molango signed a three-year contract with Brighton after impressing then manager Mark McGhee during a 2 week trial for the club in the summer of 2004 after being released by Wacker Burghausen in Germany.
Molango had a great start to his Brighton career, scoring a goal on his debut after 17 seconds at the Madejski Stadium against Reading. Brighton eventually lost this match 3–2. Since then, Molango has had a troubled time; he fell out with then manager Mark McGhee in late September 2004, and did not make another appearance under McGhee. During the summer of 2005, Brighton let Molango try and seek a move elsewhere, thus leading him to Lincoln City, where again he had a very successful trial. Lincoln decided to sign Molango on-loan for six months before deciding whether to sign him permanently or not. Molango played a couple of games for the Imps, before being sent back to Brighton by then Lincoln manager Keith Alexander. Molango then went on loan again in February 2006 to a third division Spanish side, where again he failed to impress, but he stayed there until the end of the 2005-06 season.
At the start of the 2006-07 season, Molango joined Oldham Athletic on a one month's loan, but they decided not to renew his loan after he made 5 appearances and scored 1 goal. Molango was then given another chance at Brighton & Hove Albion by manager Dean Wilkins in the 3–1 defeat at Carlisle United on 23 September. Wilkins was not impressed by what he saw, and decided to let the striker leave the club on loan again this time to Wrexham where he made a couple of appearances before being sent back to the Albion on the 1 December 2006.
Molango was officially released from his contract at Brighton on 30 January 2007, and the day after he signed a contract at Conference side Grays Athletic until the end of the season. However he was released in March 2007 after just two appearances for the Essex club.
