Maheshpur is located at 23.3500° N 88.9125° E . It has 41995 units of house hold and total area 416.96 km².

As of 1991 Bangladesh census^[1], Maheshpur has a population of 246350. Males constitute are 51.22% of the population, and females 48.78%. This Upazila's eighteen up population is 118674. Maheshpur has an average literacy rate of 22.2% (7+ years), and the national average of 32.4% literate. ^[2]
