Mahendra Singh Mewar is from Mewar dynasty and a former member of Lok Sabha .He was elected to Lok Sabha from Chittorgarh as a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party .He is the eledest son of then Mewar ruler Bhagwat Singh and as per the tradition should have inherited the status and property after his father's death.However in 1984 Maharana Bhagwat Singh willed his entire property through a trust to younger son Arvind Singh Mewar becasuse Mahendra Singh has earlier has objected to his father's wasteful expenditure.The dispute is now in courts.
