Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station or MGBS earlier known as Imlibun (means forest of tamarind trees). Imlibun is a bus station in the southern part of Hyderabad, India. This bus terminus is situated at Imlibun and owned by Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC). People usually call it Imlibun bus station, though it is not the official name. It is the largest bus station in Asia. Many buses from other states like Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra,arrive at this bus station daily.
There are many bus stations owned by Andhra Pradesh State Road Transportation Corporation (APSRTC) in Hyderabad. The MGBS comes under Hyderabad Depot-1. There are also many bus stations in different areas of entire state of Andhra Pradesh.
Many buses go to this bus station or starts from here because it is the main bus station. There are also other ones like the Jubilee Bus Station but this is the biggest of them all and of course the biggest in Asia.
MGBS covers an area 30 acres and built-up area in eight-hectare complex. It is completed at a cost of Rs 13 crores. There are 74 platforms for incoming and outgoing buses, a waiting hall of 7,380 square meters and a shopping complex of 3,455 square meters besides a 5,000 square meters area for private parking.
