Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Vedic University located at Katni, Madhya Pradesh, India is a public university named after Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who was a famous spiritual leader and the first chancellor of this university. The University offers Post Graduate (Acharya), Graduate (Shastri) and Diploma (Praman Patra) Programmes in the areas of ancient History, Languages and Cultures of India such as Maharishi Ved Vigyan, Jyotish, Yoga, Sthaptya Ved-Vastu Vidya and Vedic Swasthya Vidhan etc. It is also a member of AIU. Thousands of students have been awarded degrees from this university. Many authorized study centers are being established so that the various courses of the university may reach the masses through distance education programme.
