[edit] Poseidon (horse)
Welcome. I think you did an outstanding job. I'm glad to see someone working on Australian Hall of Fame horses. I made a few minor changes to your article to conform with the general formatting policy in use at Wikipedia. Note, in the text, once you have linked someone/thing, then it is not necessary to do it again. (links slow down Wikipedia) Also, I put in the middle initial for Sir Hugh Denison. With the Internet, duplicate names becomes a major problem so where possible it is a good idea to insert a middle initial if available.
Note that I linked Poseidon's damsire Martini-Henry because he is important (and already linked) as a Melbourne Cup winner.
You show the breeder as "R H Dangar". I am curious to know what relation he is to the Rodney R. Dangar, the late owner of Baroona Stud who bred Peter Pan? [1] - Handicapper 13:52, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Richard Halifax Dangar (1868-1940) was the eldest son of Henry Cary Dangar (1830-1917). Rodney Rouse Dangar (1872-1950) was the eldest son of Albert Augustus Dangar (1814-1913). See www.horsemenofthefirstfrontier.info -User Volcanic 3.45 31 July 2007
[edit] Picture
Hi Magic Flute thanks for responding to my comments on Poseidon, It looks like I did not read too carefully! The death date could go at the end of the stud section to make a complete narrative. For the photos copyright look at Copyright_expiration_in_Australia. Almost certainly your pictures were taken before 1955, and so are in the public domain. This means that you can reproduce or upload them to the wikipedia commons for use anywhere in wikipedia. Fair use covers fair use of copyright material in particular circumstances, but will probably not be needed in your case. GB 05:19, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Robert Sangster
Hi. Do you know much about the breeding and racing interests of Robert Sangster in Australia? I've been doing some work on his article and eventually will expand it to include his European breeding and racing, but I have to admit I don't know a great deal about his Australian empire. Any thoughts? Bcp67 20:20, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply and for the links to websites - that's brilliant. Eventually I will get around to extending the Sangster article and this stuff will be really useful, many thanks. Bcp67 04:40, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for your link to the Robert Sangster Stakes - I haven't done anything more with the Sangster article lately as I've been working on results from the 1987 British season! But I will pick it up sooner or later, thanks again. Bcp67 16:40, 21 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sortable Tables
I came across the sortable table at User:Zafonic/winners tables and copied the headings from there to other articles such as List of Melbourne Cup winners. I have just found this help page which may help explain how it all works. Regards - Cuddy Wifter 07:20, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Dangar family
They do seem interesting and an important part of the history of racing in your country. Just a suggestion, but you might want to create an article Dangar family (Eg: Joel family) and just give a brief description of who they are and use your "Horsemen of the First Frontier" book as a reference. Then, use your judgment to list the names of those who have significant multiple page references in the book. That way, sooner or later others will find it and add to the article and/or create biographies. Handicapper 16:08, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I am the author of "Horsemen of the First Frontier (1788-1900) & The Serpents Legacy" ISBN 064644865X.In the context of Australasian Thoroughbred History, I am not adverse to an attributed use in Wikipedia of extracts from the Dangar chapter, p223-236. In my experience, family history and historical thoroughbred researchers then want to have a hardcover book so "go to it". Same applies to other important pioneer thoroughbred breeders in the book - see www.horsemenofthefirstfrontier.info for details, indexes, reviews etc. Best wishes. Volcanic 4.58 26 July 2007
[edit] White-bellied sea eagle
Magic Flute according to Wikipaedia you are the author of a great photograph of a soaring adult White-Bellied Sea Eagle on Wikipaedia, taken at Adelaide River in the NT I believe? (anyone else reading this - I can highly recommend having a look at that page). I'd like to ask you some Q's about the photo if possible, but you dont have user email enabled. Maybe you could consider sending me an email instead - via my user page for Tourer1 and "email this user" on bottom LHS in the toolbox. If prefer some other way leave me a message here. Many thanks, Tourer1 Newcastle NSW. 3.40pm AEST 5Sep07
- Hi Tourer1! Yes I did take that photo of the soaring White-Bellied Sea Eagle when I was on holidays in Darwin earlier this year. I am more than happy to answer any questions for have in regards to this photo. I will send you an email. Cheers, MagicFlute1983 01:48, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] V8 Supercar photos
Hi. About a year ago you posted comment on the WikiProject Australian motorsport talk page about a collection of photos that you have. Do you still have any available? I'm looking for a photo of Mark Skaife (V8 Supercar driver) as well as one of a Holden V8 Supercar and a Ford V8 Supercar. Do you have anything like that? --Fruv (talk) 02:08, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
