Talk:Magyar Posta
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"Hungary was occupied many times, by France, Romania and Serbia". Hungary was never occupied by either of these countries. The division of the Austro-Hungarian Empire contributed to the beginning of World War I in 1914. In treaty settlements following the war, Hungary became an independent republic but lost two-thirds of its former territory and three-fifths of its people to newly created neighbor states, including Romania and Serbia. France has never fought against, or occupied Hungary; in fact, France is not even anywhere near Hungary.
[edit] Magyar Posta text on stamps
The "MAGYAR POSTA" text on a stamp does not add any value to a stamp. The entry I made had been changed to reflect that this text adds value to the stamp. This is INCORRECT. It is the equivlent of the post office adding "USPS" to a US stamp.
