Magnus Samuelsson (born on December 21, 1969), is a Swedish strongman and former World's Strongest Man. Magnus has also been Europe's best arm wrestler. In a famous match he broke the arm of professional wrestler Nathan Jones in two places.
Magnus is a full-time farmer and was the winner of the World's Strongest Man competition in 1998 in Morocco. Magnus has achieved a podium place in WSM on five separate occasions. Renowned for his longevity in the sport, he holds the record for reaching the WSM finals ten times, a feat which he achieved over a thirteen year span from 1995 to 2007. He was the first man to ever win the strongman World super series 2001. He is also one of the five men in the world to have successfully closed the No. 4 Captains of Crush hand-gripper under official conditions. Magnus is known for having the worlds strongest arms, he has earned the nickname "The King of the Stones", in reference to his domination in the McGlashen Stone event throughout his career.
Magnus stands 2.00m tall (6 ft 6.75 in) and weighs about 156kg (343lbs), giving him a BMI of 39. He is notable for his pleasant manner and charismatic personality, which has made him a fan favorite at every competition. As always, he is supported at every competition by his wife Kristin, a former two-time winner of Sweden's strongest woman.
After failing to qualify for the 2005 WSM, Magnus returned to competition in the 2006 tournament. However, he failed to make it out of the qualifying rounds due to a back injury. In 2007 Magnus returned to form and finished in a proud 4th place in what he described as the hardest WSM final to date.
