Magnum Cum Louder was iconic[1][2] Australian rock group Hoodoo Gurus' fourth album, the first with their new label, RCA Records having been dropped by Elektra Records following disappointing sales in the United States. The album was released in Australia on June 28, 1989.

The album reached No. 101 on the American Billboard 200 album charts in 1989, with the single "Come Anytime" reaching No. 27 on the ARIA Singles Charts [3] and No. 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart in 1989. Other singles from the album were "Axegrinder" (August 1989) and "Another World" (October 1989).[4] The album's title is a pun on the Latin honours' phrase magna cum laude or 'with great honours' which is awarded to outstanding University graduates.

The album was re-released by EMI on February 7, 2005[5] with three bonus tracks, "Spaghetti Western", "Lover for a Friend", and "Cajun Country", a fold out poster and liner notes by Steve MacDonald (Redd Kross).

The lead track "Come Anytime" was the theme song of Australian television series Thank God You're Here in 2006 and the American series in 2007.
