Magnolia is a city in Rock County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 221 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.7 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 221 people, 79 households, and 57 families residing in the city. The population density was 215.6 people per square mile (82.8/km²). There were 87 housing units at an average density of 84.9/sq mi (32.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 82.81% White, 2.71% African American, 9.50% Asian, 0.45% Pacific Islander, and 4.52% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.98% of the population.
There were 79 households out of which 36.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.6% were married couples living together, 6.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% were non-families. 22.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.80 and the average family size was 3.31.
In the city the population was spread out with 33.5% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 19.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 92.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.1 males.
The median income for a household in the city was $36,000, and the median income for a family was $36,500. Males had a median income of $30,500 versus $21,875 for females. The per capita income for the city was $13,427. About 5.2% of families and 6.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.7% of those under the age of eighteen and none of those sixty five or over.
