In J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium, Maglor's Gap is a lowland region lying between Himring and the Blue Mountains, the widest break in the northern mountain-fences of Beleriand. It was guarded against the forces of Morgoth in the early First Age by Maglor, second son of Fëanor.
During Dagor Aglareb the Gap was breached by Orcs however they were pushed back. During the Dagor Bragollach, Glaurung came through the pass and the Elves were defeated; Maglor fled to Himring, along with most survivors of the battle in that region and Thargelion was deserted.
