Magic Jewelry

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Magic Jewelry is a Taiwanese puzzle game for the Famicom, programmed by Hwang Shinwei. This game was released in 1990, without license from Nintendo.

The point of this game is to match a line of three of a kind or more, similarly to Sega's Columns. The popular Macromedia Flash puzzle game Bejeweled has adopted a similar jewel-based theme, although its gameplay involves rearranging already present jewels rather than maneuvring falling ones.

This game is extremely common on pirate multi-game Famicom cartridges and systems - for example, it is built into the Power Player Super Joy III. And then, subsequently onto the Pelican VG Pocket under the name "Jewels", and with modified graphics.
