Magheramorne
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Magheramorne (Irish: Machaire Morna) is a hamlet in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, which lies approximately 5 miles south of Larne on the shores of Larne Lough. It had a population of 75 people in the 2001 Census. It is situated in the Larne Borough Council area.
Notable features include an old limestone quarry currently owned by Lafarge (previously known as Blue Circle) in which a regeneration project (rather than a landfill super-dump) will transform the former Magheramorne coastal limestone quarry into a high profile nature conservation, leisure and residential destination.
