[edit] Main characters
- Maggie: 5 year old girl. Voiced by Kristen Bone.
- The Ferocious Beast: who is not very scary and ferocious though he can shout louder than anybody. His favorite catchphrase is "Great Googly Moogly!", which he says several times per episode. The Beast loves pumpkins and has an impressive pumpkin patch. He is also covered in red spots that are easily removed by Maggie and Hamilton when necessary.
- Hamilton Hocks: Hamilton is really bossy and fussy but Maggie still likes him. His name is apparently derived from "ham hocks." He lives inside a portable box
- Rudy the Mouse: a cheese-loving mouse who lives in a large wheel of Swiss cheese, in a land of cheese named Cheeseland, (referred to as Cheese Town in some episodes). It is revealed in one episode that Rudy's hat and boots do not come off.
- Nedley the Rabbit: he loves Nedley speaks in rhymes. He says rhymes almost all through every episode, but sometimes he talks normally a little bit before starting his rhyme again.
- The Kindly Giant: is not at all scary but kind-hearted. The others are scared at first but they soon get use to him. He owns a garden full of fruit and vegetables. His face is never shown and he only appears in a few episodes. He is big and strong. The Beast seems small compared to the giant as he is far bigger than him and his friends.
- The Moo Sisters: three cows who live in a village named Mooville. They never stop singing.
- The Jellybean Team - a group of seven jellybeans. There is a red one, orange one, yellow one, purple one, black one, and two green ones.
- The Triplets: Maggie's baby nephews (Oscar, Zak, and Max.). They sometimes get up to mischief and run off though they are loving. Oscar is most friendly towards the beast even though he sometimes throws dirt at him. Zack is the only one that crawls around, and only Max can sit up and play patty cake.
- BB Cats - The new character included with Raven living at the Murk Bridge. He is into making music and owns a double bass.
- Sidestep - a very cranky crab who once got his house destroyed by the beast. His home has been rebuilt twice on the series.
